Lost in Art
Lost in Art is a project aimed at people living in the community with dementia and their carers. The aim of the project is to explore the role of the visual arts in addressing issues which can affect people with dementia, including social isolation, confidence, communication and quality of life and wellbeing.
With Lost in Art having taken place successfully in Ruthin Craft Centre for the past five years, the Arts Council for Wales has funded the piloting of the project across the region, in Conwy, Flintshire and Wrexham, as well as further projects in Rhyl and Llangollen.
Professional artists, all of whom are Dementia Friends, work in a variety of mediums with a wide range of materials, enabling the Lost in Art members to produce their own artwork, as evidenced in this exhibition.
Lost in Art (Ymgolli mewn Celf) was originated by Denbighshire Arts Service, Denbighshire County Council. For more information about the Lost in Art concept, please contact Denbighshire’s Arts Officer Sian Fitzgerald on sian.fitzgerald@denbighshire. gov.uk 01824 708216.
