I am an Environmental Artist based in Flintshire, working with a wide range of mixed media and materials which are used to create temporary installations and drawings.
Since attending Wrexham and Edinburgh Colleges of Art I have exhibited my work in galleries and other venues across the UK and abroad. In addition I have undertaken many residencies, exchange travel schemes, projects at home and internationally, and have been the recipient of numerous prizes and bursaries. I also conduct workshops for schools and community groups working with people of all ages and abilities.
I view drawing as a vital component of my practice which complements my outdoor work and the drawings exhibited at Ruthin Craft Centre provide an insight into my thought processes and ideas.
The main component of work displayed is comprised of pencil and watercolour studies of objects I have found on my travels. These include machinery bits and pieces from an old hat factory, tools from a jewellery studio and natural objects discovered on beaches and moorland.
In addition, on display are design/idea sheets where I have used pencil and mixed media to document ideas for future artworks and installations.
