Artist Story 4: Helaina Sharpley

26 & 28 August 11.00am – 3.30pm FREE no need to book

Meet the artist and make yourself a cup of tea (in wire)

Helaina Sharpley is a designer / maker based in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, specialising in wall art wirework inspired by her interest in Victorian and Edwardian architecture through to her love of tea and tea drinking. Using old sepia photographs, she creates pen and ink drawings to capture the aspects of their vintage elegancy. She then translates these drawings into small and large-scale wire drawings, crossing the boundaries between drawing and sculptural form.

Whilst Helaina is working away in studio 4, pop in and say hello and make your own wire tea cup to ‘take away’, or leave behind to be displayed on the dresser or our afternoon tea table set.
