Jeanette Orrell: Artist & Sculptor

Open Doors at Nantclwyd y Dre 27 & 28 September

Jeanette is interested in “making things”. She works in a fine art way but often uses craft skills. Over the years, she has used ceramic, papier maché, stitch, wire, wax, paper and cloth to explore her ideas. She has also worked extensively on landscape drawings; drawing and redrawing the views from her windows.

Jeanette is interested in the day to day, the otherwise ordinary: objects that have a bearing on her and her life. Her work can be inspired by things that people say or do. In turn, her work sparks conversations about diverse topics.

During her weekend at Nantclwyd y Dre, Jeanette will show samples of her work, accompanied by a slide show. She will talk about and continue work on her current projects, drawing from objects in the house that have a resonance with her practice.

Jeanette will offer visitors the chance to engage with her verbally and through drawing.
