Illustration & Animation
Elly is an illustrator, animator and writer; originally from North Wales but now lives and works in London. She loves drawing, telling stories and making things. She has created animated visuals for performances at Blinc Digital Arts Festival in North Wales and Sensoria Festival in Sheffield. Her illustrations are featured regularly in digital fiction magazine Cracked Eye, and her short story ‘Floods’ was published as part of the anthology Jam by MardiBooks in 2013.
The Workshop: During the 2-day workshop you will discover how to make a range of marks, textures and printed patterns, using drawing, collage and printmaking techniques. You will gather these into your own personal treasure trove of resources, which you will use to create a series of collage and mixed media illustrations based on a theme. You will then discover how to storyboard your artwork, and animate one (or many more!) of your drawings, so that it becomes a moving picture.
