Samuel Waterhouse

4 May – 1 June 2017

Samuel Waterhouse’s main inspiration stems from looking at forms and jewels from antiquity. He creates simple yet contemporary jewellery; rings, brooches, bangles and beaded necklaces. As he says ‘I attempt to retain simplicity in all my pieces in order that the beauty of the jewellery can stem mainly from the surface and colour of the material used.’ His work is both tactile and elegant. Particularly delightful are the handmade beads he makes. Intelligently fabricated using the properties of different precious metal alloys and their subtle colours they become covetable necklaces; seductive to touch they invite wearing.
