Digital Workshop 3

Online workshop with Lisa Carter-Grist
Inspired by the Paul Wearing ceramic exhibition:
Material Matters

These online sessions with Lisa will offer you many insights, from what captivates her during her walks; through the everyday things that she observes along the way, such as sticks, branches, fields, and rooftops; to where those encounters lead her next within her practice. In a similar way to Lisa, Paul’s ceramic work is also motivated by how he feels being in the landscape and being part of his surroundings, spending time observing and walking the Ceredigion coast.

Drawing and painting for Lisa is ‘experimenting’, through the use of looking, deciding, rearranging, feeling and thinking. The material she uses to draw and paint with can also lend itself to the creative process. These three demonstrations with Lisa, listed below, will show how you can draw with ink; exploring mark-making, texture and gesture. Plus, encourage you to connect observation to imagination and how to link feelings to forms.

1. Experimentation
2. Observation & Inspiration
3. Association & Discovery

Each digital workshop costs £12.50 (or sign up to all 3 workshops for £30).

Please contact us if there are any difficulties with payment. All of our online workshops and resources have been carefully designed within the COVID-19 Welsh Government regulations and further instructions and information about each workshop will be provided once you’ve made your booking with us.
