WORKSHOP

The Fabrication of Blodeuwedd

2 day drop-in workshop 29 & 30 May 11.00am – 3.00pm FREE no need to book, but please be patient if we are busy

Cherry Head Productions is interested in the creation of elaborate costumes made from a variety of textiles, which could stand alone as a piece of art, or be used in the creation of exciting theatrical characters.

Artist Goldsmith Kevin Coates and Ceramicist Claire Curneen are both exhibiting at the Craft Centre this spring, and their work, although very different, both are inspired by the idea of Mythology. Cherry Head Production project takes inspiration from the spring exhibition, the pairing of creature and human form, and combining these aspects in one extravagant costume.

We would like to invite you to come along to Ruthin Craft Centre and help Cherry Head Production to design and make this beautiful garment. During the workshop you’ll make flowers and leaves amongst other aspects of mythical creatures and gods to adorn it.

Suitable for all ages

The project continues a month later with a promenade performance, including live music by Henry Horrell, along the Ruthin Art Trail on Sunday 29 June.
